Patch Notes: Tilescapes v0.4

Welcome back! Here's the fourth (alpha? pre-release? early access? what am I going to call it) version of Tilescapes. The changes in this one may not seem quite as substantial, but a lot of work had to be done behind the scenes to get some of these new things working, and there's plenty of incomplete, inaccessible stuff I didn't yet have the patience to finish in this version before releasing it...

  • Added new menus:
    • The title screen, which displays the version of the game you're currently playing in the bottom-left corner of the window (as well as setting the mood, obviously)
    • The "species select" screen, where you pick the character you play as. I might add a "random" option in the future for if you don't really care, but for the time being: What One Is Your Favorite
    • A "pause" menu once you enter gameplay, activated by pressing Escape (yes, the button that used to reset your game). I put quotations around it because the game already pauses when you're not moving, so all the menu does (besides giving you the option to return to the main menu, view the credits, and pause all sound effects and music) is prevent you from moving until you press Escape again.
    • The aforementioned credits screen, accessed from pressing C while on the pause menu. Now you can read Pnox's name whenever you want! And Toby Fox's, because I stole his font.
  • UFOs and spike formations now generate randomly around the world. Finally, the entire playable space is randomly generated, not just the locations of the random tiles!
  • Various changes to UFOs:
    • UFOs now spawn Li'l Greys under their middle tile, instead of on an adjacent tile. The old behavior made sense (kinda) when you were viewing them at a three-quarters angle, but now that you're viewing them from top-down, it didn't feel natural.
    • UFOs that have a Li'l Grey underneath them will not spin, because otherwise it's hard to tell they're even there.
    • UFOs (and players) will now flash when your cursor is hovering over them.
    • Li'l Greys that are underneath a UFO are now protected from attacks made by the player, playing a little "ding" sound to indicate that you tried to attack them but failed. Time still progresses when you try to attack them, and walking over spikes while standing under a UFO will still damage them. You can probably still crush them even if they are underneath a UFO and you fall down on top of them, but I haven't seen that happen yet which means it never will! My game is devoid of glitches
  • Mysterious Hotbar Phantasm no longer appears in the top-left corner of the map.
  • Placing or removing tiles no longer causes the hotbar to light up. It will still do so when receiving tiles from a slain Li'l Grey.
  • There's a new weird glitch where sometimes when you die you'll fall from the sky both at the location of your death and correctly back on the spawn tile. The "false respawn" doesn't actually do anything, but if you see it please let me know because I don't know what causes it to happen
